As senior vice president of business development for MediaWhiz, a Matomy Media Group company, Daryl Colwell manages client procurement efforts for all MediaWhiz business units. This includes sales efforts for MonetizeIt, the MediaWhiz affiliate network, which is comprised of more than 6,000 affiliates; MediaWhiz’s Search Division; and the MediaWhiz Performance Sales Division, which generates more than $70 million in annual revenue.
Colwell joined MediaWhiz in August 2008. Before that, he spearheaded the financial services and travel verticals for Relevance-X, the online behavioral and life-stage targeting division of Acxiom. He forged relationships with such blue-chip marketers as American Express, HSBC and Travelocity, among many others.
Prior to Acxiom, Colwell was vice president of sales for SilverCarrot, where he provided strategic advice and counsel to leading direct-response marketers, including Lending Tree, Netflix, Overstock and Meredith Publishing.
Colwelll is an established industry thought leader and speaker. He is regularly quoted in business and trade publications, including The Wall Street Journal, MarketWatch, Advertising Age, Direct Marketing News, MediaPost and iMedia Connection. In addition, he has spoken at a variety of advertising and marketing conferences, such as Search Marketing Expo and LeadsCon.
He is a member of the Electronic Retailing Association and the Performance Marketing Association.
Cowell earned a bachelor of arts in psychology at the University of Texas at Austin.
