Exploiting Google Filters

Joe Whyte recently wrote a blog post about Google filters and how you can get around them as well as exploit them. It seems it has been creating a lot of controversy because of the point he discusses.

What do you think?

I think Joe has some really great points! I'm not sure if all of these exist but its definitely something to think about and take into consideration when doing SEO on a site. - Alyssa/hp Feb 5, 2007 11:15 pm

Not sure if all of these filters actually exist... I am also a little disapointed at the canned response to each of the filters: Don't do this, Don't do that. - Dan/hp Feb 6, 2007 3:07 pm

I agree. Could have been elaborated on a bit more. I think that would have helped with people who are more beginners. I looked at this for people who already know about these types of filters and its a piece that promotes communication in the industry. I think its also a good place for a beginner to hear about these filters to learn more.

He probably could have made an even larger list. - Tim Burton/hp Feb 6, 2007 5:25 pm

Great skim list - one you can print out and put on a wall, or a file, to refer back to occasionally when you're doing SEO.

What's that called in the U.S.? A crib sheet? - Brent Hodgson/hp Feb 26, 2007 9:25 am
