Position Title: Senior IT Project Manager
Location: New York

POSITION REPORTS TO: Chief Information Officer
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: N/A

POSITION PURPOSE: This position will be responsible for applying advanced level project management skills, techniques, and leadership to drive the execution of software development and hardware infrastructure projects necessary to meet or exceed the defined objectives for each project.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Apply advanced project management principals and practices in leading the delivery and execution of software development and infrastructure IT projects
• Adhere to project delivery standards (SDLC) to ensure scope management, schedule management, and cost management while delivering quality work products
• Provide leadership to and motivate team members to efficiently produce high quality work products in a matrix team environment
• Communicate with senior management to ensure clear understanding of project progress and direction
• Conduct project risk assessments and track and drive issue resolution to proactively mitigate project impacts
• Participate in business and project planning sessions to ensure project objectives are understood and documented
• Develop detailed Project Schedules using MS Project and reports progress or variance to schedules, milestones and budgets (takes corrective action, as required)
• Apply scope change management principals and techniques to eliminate any ambiguity and ensure the project team delivers agreed upon scope
• Prepare time and cost estimates for project execution
• Establish and maintain communications and rapport with project team members, users, stakeholders, business partners, and executives
• Plan and manage multiple IT projects with responsibility for coordinating efforts between various functional and corporate group
• Understand and communicate technical concepts around the project solution

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or MIS, or equivalent education and work experience. MBA preferred.
• 5-10 years experience in enterprise project implementation and software development project management
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Highly self-motivated and directed with keen attention to detail
• Strong project management skills with successful experience leading small to large scale enterprise IT projects
• Excellent influencing skills at all levels and ability to develop and maintain good relationships
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
