Jonathan ShapiroChief Executive Officer
Jonathan is responsible for guiding MediaWhiz's strategy and operational execution, including overseeing the integration of the company's suite of marketing services, leading the development of new and unique capabilities, and ensuring the organization can deliver better results for its performance marketing clients.
Before joining MediaWhiz, Jonathan was President of Lillian Vernon Corp., where he was responsible for the management of the company and its subsidiaries. Lillian Vernon was sold to a group of investors in July of 2006.
Previously, Jonathan was the Chief Strategy Officer of DoubleClick, where he was in charge of setting strategy and overseeing M&A. He began his tenure at DoubleClick as Vice President responsible for the company's Internet Advertising Network before being appointed Senior Vice President of the company's Abacus online division, where he created DoubleClick's data strategy and oversaw development of new online targeting products and services.
Additionally, Jonathan was the executive responsible for developing United Media's original web businesses (The Dilbert Zone, Snoopy.com and Comics.com), and was a senior consultant with McKinsey & Co.
Eduard KatsExecutive Vice President
Ed manages MediaWhiz's Performance Business, including its Email, Affiliate Marketing, LeadROI and Lead Generation divisions.
Before joining MediaWhiz, Ed served as Executive Vice President of Operations at Silver Carrot, a leading online marketing company. During his seven-year tenure he created the vision for, and led the development of their ad/offer optimization engine. He was also instrumental in raising several rounds of venture capital.
Ed previously served as Vice President at Clear View Technologies (formerly ASCOP Corporation), a $300 million global marketer, exporter, and fabricator of consumer electronics and electronic media, where he developed marketing & product strategies for Global Fortune 500 corporations. He began his career there in 1993 where he led a staff of 300+ specializing in international electronic media marketing and distribution.
Tom LanzettaChief Financial Officer
Tom is responsible for the Financial Operations, Investor Relations and Accounting functions of the company. His role includes setting financial goals and ensuring the business units are operating on a path towards those goals. Tom also plays a key role in corporate governance and overall business strategy.
Prior to joining MediaWhiz, Tom spent nearly a decade at Agency.com (formerly Nasdaq: ACOM), a full service interactive agency. At Agency.com Tom was aggressively promoted, spending his final years with the company as the Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Tom was charged with overseeing operations for Agency.com's six worldwide offices and 500 employees. He also led a turnaround strategy that saw Agency.com bounce back from the Dot-Com crash of 2001, evidenced by the company regaining profitability and industry recognition.
Prior to Agency.com, Tom was CFO of Spiral Media, a startup boutique interactive shop in NYC. Tom began his career in public accounting and earned a CPA certification in 1991.
Abhijit SanyalChief Information Officer
Abhijit is responsible for all infrastructure and business technology development, operations and project management functions. His focus is on delivering business solutions that provide immediate competitive advantages, while creating the most technically proficient and business savvy technology team. He brings a distinguished track record of performance to MediaWhiz, increasing revenues through technology, strategy, definition, and execution, running organizational transformation programs and building strong talented organizations in a variety of industries.
Before joining MediaWhiz, Abhijit was the Managing Director Principal at Bear Stearns where he was charged with building and leading a global technology organization along with managing a portfolio consisting of business focused and enterprise wide assets. In 1996, he designed and built Bear’s corporate eCommerce and Intranet architecture and infrastructure, coinciding with their initial presence on the World Wide Web.
As Senior Consultant with Citicorp Overseas Software Ltd, Abhijit developed a global platform for trade services and financing for the Global Trade division. He was responsible for all imaging module and capacity planning efforts. As a member of the Software Engineering group, he conceptualized processes for Project and Risk Management. He also coordinated training on SEI-CMM and facilitated SEI assessment.
Peter KleinGeneral Manager, MonetizeIt
Peter brings 15 years of marketing and business management experience to his role as General Manager of MediaWhiz's MonetizeIt Affiliate Network. Overseeing all components of the service, from technology to strategy and implementation, Peter ensures advertisers maximize the value of their program and improve their results with each campaign.
In addition to building a successful affiliate network, RocketProfit.com, Peter's previous experience includes positions in both traditional and interactive companies such as Cablevision Systems Corporation, Barnes & Noble's enews.com and Publishers Clearinghouse. Peter is a contributor to industry publications and newsletters, notable among them Revenue Magazine and Digital Moses Confidential.
Adam Scott RiffGeneral Manager, Search
Adam leads the MediaWhiz Search division, drawing upon his wealth of industry knowledge, operational expertise and data analysis to integrate Search into multi-channel marketing programs of continuous improvement for MediaWhiz clients.
Adam is a pioneer in the Search industry having started a Search-based business while enrolled at the University of Florida. Adam is an expert strategist and tactician in reputation management, paid search, bid optimization rules and search engine optimization. In 2006 Adam was hired to start a Search division for interactive marketing services company, Global Resource Systems. Within one year, he increased revenue by 1400%. In 2007, the company was acquired by MediaWhiz. Adam has been published in Adotas, WebMasterRadio, Search Marketing Now and the 2008 DMNews Essential Guide to Search Engine Marketing.
Bill FishCo-Founder/General Manager, Text Link Ads
Bill co-founded Text Link Ads, which was acquired by MediaWhiz in 2006, and built the business to more than $25 million in annual revenues. As General Manager, Bill oversees all of Text Link Ads, with a strong focus on driving results for clients through efficient operations and innovative product development and technology.
Prior to his involvement in Text Link Ads, Bill founded Positioned 1, focusing on both natural search engine optimization and paid search. His additional experience includes positions with Quality Online Stores, specializing in niche ecommerce sites, and T-Mobile, where he helped build the T-Mobile cellular network in the city of Chicago. Bill is a member of SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization).
Mitch TuchGeneral Manager, Data Acquisition
Mitch heads MediaWhiz's Data Acquisition team. He provides advertisers with consultative and innovative guidance to build their databases with receptive, engaged consumers who proactively provide detailed profile information and permission to be contacted. In addition, Mitch leads business development for MediaWhiz's publisher network.
A veteran marketing and sales executive with leading consumer packaged goods, retail and marketing services companies, Mitch has developed and implemented successful acquisition, loyalty, trial and branding programs for a broad range of top brand advertisers. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships and Retail for loyalty marketer Upromise, as well as Vice President of Sales and Account Management of digital marketer Q Interactive. Mitch is an active participant in key industry organizations such as 212, Boston Interactive Media Association and Chicago Interactive Marketing Association.
Donny DyeVice President of Sales, Search
As MediaWhiz's Vice President of Sales, Search, Donny Dye oversees the search sales teams of MediaWhiz, including SEO, PPC, and Text Link Ads. Under Donny's results-focused leadership, MediaWhiz is focused on helping advertisers acquire clients more profitably through enterprise PPC, SEO, Local SEO, Paid Social, ORM, and Strategic Link Acquisition.
Donny brings extensive digital sales, sales management and sales training experience to his role, which he garnered during highly successful stints at Heart Holdings and Dexknows.com. His specialized areas of expertise include link building, local search, online reputation management and key account planning. Donny is a member of SEMPO (Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization).
Daryl ColwellVice President, Business Development
Daryl oversees MediaWhiz’s performance sales managing a team that generates over $50 MM in annual revenue. He also supervises MonetizeIt’s Business Development division, comprised of over 5,000 affiliates. Before joining MediaWhiz, Daryl spearheaded the financial services & travel verticals for Relevance-X - the online behavioral & life-stage targeting division of Acxiom. He forged relationships with such blue chip marketers as American Express, HSBC and Travelocity. Prior to Acxiom, Daryl was Vice President of Sales for SilverCarrot. Daryl provided strategic advice and counsel to leading direct response marketers including Lending Tree, Netflix, Overstock, and Meredith Publishing.
